Recycled Plastic

Collaborating with Robries in Surabaya, we collect used automotive oil, as well as our own juice jerry cans and mineral water gallon caps from the Desa. Heated and compressed; fragments of plastic are transformed to create beautifully marbled, freckled and durable Flat Recycled Plastic Sheets to be precision-cut and shaped into our Flat Plastic Chair by furniture manufacturer Diraja Surya. The remaining plastic sheet offcuts from the process are not left to be discarded, but given their own second life, reworked into finely-finished hand mirrors, coasters, hooks and napkin rings - ensuring that we stay efficient in leaving as little as possible to waste.
